PRODUCTS PAGE > HYPERFILTERS

15 Jan 2003 : the Hyperfilter is FREE now. It is included in the freebees page.

Our filters are the greatest way to add the real TECHNO feeling to any instruments or mix. They are working in Stereo and uses LFOs to generate automatic infinite moving textures. They are very addictive and simple to uses and have a great precise user interface..

Warning : all our products needs the DSPLIB to be installed : please download it here and follow the installation instructions.

HyperFilter. (Stereo / 3 LFO)

The Hyper Filter is our first filter. It is designed to produce a lot of nice vintage/Techno effect in a minimum of time. Very addictive, it sounds great and you can have immediate and impressive results.

If you really want to understand how it works in more detail : read the following :

To resume how the Hyper Filter works, I can describe it like this :

Smooth Filter (controlled by LFO) -> Optional Phaser (Controlled by LFO) -> VTube

This plan is clearly drawn on the picture above, from the left to the right you have the 3 sections : The Filter itself, (the phaser is moving automatically with the filter), the LFO section that can be assigned to any filters components and finally the VTube and  its Saturation corrector.

1- The Parametric EQ.

You can control the parametric EQ by using the Freq., Gain and Resonance buttons on the left.. If you push one of the ON/OFF buttons at the middle of the screen, you will enable their control by the LFO.

You can anytime create another Filters, (up to 8) by double clicking on the REAL TIME DIGITAL PANEL.

2 - The Real time digital panel.

It is used to create new filters (so you can create a path and you can link one of the filter to follow this path just by clicking on the red dot in this window.

 - if you double click on an empty space you'll create a new red dot (filter).

- if you double click on a red dot you will remove it.

You can move the red dot with the left mouse button on and this will change the filter gain. If you move it with the mouse right button, it will change the resonance, if you move the red dot from the left to the right you'll change the frequency.

Everything is moving in real time. If you move any buttons it will change the Real Time Panel. If you use an LFO it will make the Dots moving automatically. It is really fun!

3 - the 3 LFO.

It is used to make the filters moving with an unlimited number of possibilities. From the top to the bottom :

- the first LFO is designed to be linked to the Filter's frequency. If you enable it (Frequency (on/off) you will have to select the wave type, and decide the LFO speed with the Speed button, and the phase (how wide will be the LFO spectral).

The Speed button here is also linked to the optional Phaser. If you enable the phaser (red button at the right), then this button will change the phaser frequency and the  It generate some very cool effects, you'll not find any other tool on earth that will product this sound really !

- the second LFO is linked to the Resonance. It can be enabled or not (Resonance On/Off) and you have exactly the same control on the resonance change speed and phase. As you can see you can make both the resonance and the frequency in the time automatically. if you change the Phase button, you will change both the Resonance phase but ALSO THE PHASE. Give a try, it is really fun. Of course you can bypass the phaser by using the 'Phaser" red button at the right, under the power button.

-the third LFO will change the Gain of the Filter in a similar way to the LFO 1 & 2. There are no hidden parameter linked to these buttons.

4 - The VTube saturation.

To read more about VTube go here VTube page.

To resume it is a exclusive way to simulate the Vacuum tubes.  For the hyper filter we have a little bit pushed the VTube to add more distortion!

- If you move the VTube button you will change both the Ohms, Volt and Amp of the VTube creating a power amplifier. There are 512 different possibilities. Some are sounding weird (some combinations are just impossible in the real life) but I have left them because I think it may be useful. You ears will decide.

- You can control the High frequencies and the low frequencies of the distorted signal with the Distortion 4 buttons. The left one (Freq) change the Frequency and the right one (dB) change the level.

This is useful if you want to enhance the bass or the treble, or just compensate the VTube effect. As I've said we have pushed the VTube at this maximum and we keep all the distortion in the way to have the most interesting results. This idea is not to simulate a Vacuum tube here but to add a real vintage sound. This can be applied to a full mix and will produce some really interesting results.

Strangely you will see that even if the Watts are changing the final gain is not changing. The reason is quite simple. VTube is an amplifier Distortion simulator. So we have removed the Gain control and we have just left the distortion generated by the Triode Vacuum tube and added it to the original signal. Depending on the amplifier design, the distortion is more or less auditable. Class A amplifiers doing just a few distortion while Class AB are doing more distortion. The VTube Mix button is changing the Ohms, Volts and Amp parameter in order to have 520 different amplifiers designs. If you want more control, you must check our VTube page.

If you want to really modelize a Vacuum tube amplifier or a Vacuum tube Compressor, use our Compressors or our VTube tools. They are best to do htis..
